Is Soleil Dental an Aetna dentist?
Yes, for Aetna's dental PPO plans. Aetna, which is part of CVS Health, offers several kinds of dental coverage, and they don't all work the same way. The PPO is the one where you choose your dentist and pay less by staying in network.
Aetna often runs dental plans for employers, so your card may carry your company's name next to Aetna's. What matters is the plan type, and we can confirm it from a photo of your card.
Aetna plan types, and how to tell them apart
Four kinds of Aetna dental coverage come up, and each one works differently at the front desk.
Dental PPO
Usually labeled PPO on the card. You pick any dentist and pay less in network. This is the kind we're in network with.
Dental DMO
Aetna's HMO-style plan. You choose a primary dental office, and your care goes through it. If your card says DMO, call us before booking and we'll help you sort out your options.
Dental Access
A discount program, not insurance. It lowers fees at participating offices but doesn't pay claims. If that's what you have, call us and we'll explain how it would work here.
Medicare plans
Some Aetna Medicare Advantage plans include dental benefits, sometimes with their own network or a yearly allowance. They vary a lot, so call us with your plan name and we'll check.
What do Aetna dental PPO plans usually include?
Your employer or plan picks the details. Common patterns look like this:
- Preventive care, like exams, cleanings and x-rays, frequently covered at or close to 100%, often with no deductible.
- Basic care, like fillings, often covered at a high percentage after the deductible.
- Major care, like crowns and bridges, commonly paid at a lower share, and on some plans only after a waiting period.
- An annual maximum per person, set by your plan.
Aetna's member website and app list your deductible, what you've used this year and what's left. If you can see it there, great. If not, we look it up for you.
The missing tooth clause, and why it matters
Some dental plans, from Aetna and other companies, include a missing tooth clause. It means the plan may not pay to replace a tooth that was already missing before your coverage started. It usually matters for bridges, implants and partial dentures.
If you're thinking about replacing a tooth, tell us when it was lost. We'll check whether your Aetna plan has this clause before we plan anything, so you're deciding with real numbers. Implants are placed right here at our office and planned with 3D imaging, and a bridge or partial denture may be an option too.
When you need more than a cleaning
If the exam turns up something that needs treatment, we show it to you on screen first, with digital x-rays and close-up photos. Then you get your options and an estimate of what Aetna is expected to pay and what your share is likely to be.
For larger work like a crown, bridge or implant, we can send Aetna a predetermination before we start. It takes some time to come back, but it means the plan has reviewed the treatment ahead of time. If something is urgent, we'll say so and help you decide whether waiting makes sense.
Not everything is covered. Whitening and veneers are usually cosmetic, and orthodontic benefits vary by plan. For treatment your plan doesn't include, Sunbit and Cherry offer monthly payments.
Fitting a visit into your week
We're open Tuesday 9 to 3 and Wednesday to Friday 10 to 5. Our office is a ground-level storefront at 4807 Maple Ave with parking right out front, so you can get in and out without hunting for a spot.
Before your first visit, text us a photo of your Aetna card, front and back, plus the name and date of birth of the person the plan is under if it's not you. Bring a photo ID, and tell us about any second dental plan.
